Talking about motorcycle trips in Vietnam, a lot of people think of the Northwest only. But the truth is that there are several fantastic routes to explore in the South of Vietnam. Today we are going to explore four beautiful routes in the South, where the majestic unspoiled nature will instantly arouse your passion for moving.

TA NANG – PHAN DUNG ROUTE

Vietnamese backpackers all agree that Ta Nang – Phan Dung is the beautiful trail that no one ought to skip. This 50-kilometer road crosses three provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan. Especially for trekking enthusiasts, this is indeed a worthwhile journey to conquer. The perfect time to explore Ta Nang – Phan Dung route is March or April when the dry season ends, so the weather is pleasant, and the terrain conditions are safer.

Along the way, you will gradually admire the beauty of verdant pine forests, winding roads through rugged hills, picturesque streams, and spectacular waterfalls. However, it would be best if you did not go deep into the forests without the guidance of experienced people, especially indigenous people. Of the motorcycle trips in Vietnam, this route is considered in top dangerous ones. There are not severe slopes here, but the surface is quite slippery. The stream area is challenging to go, while the forest can quickly become a maze for amateurs. Keep in mind that traveling here in the rainy season usually comes with fatal dangers.

TA NANG – PHAN DUNG ROUTE

BA RIA VUNG TAU – QUY NHON ROUTE

Since the route is about 800 kilometers long, you can divide this route into two smaller stages: the first one from Ba Ria – Vung Tau to Binh Thuan, and the second one from Binh Thuan to Quy Nhon. Throughout the journey, you are going to find a variety of exquisite landscapes.

The first destination you should visit is Ho Tram beach, which was recognized as one of the most beautiful pristine beaches in the world. The long white-sand beach combined with emerald clean water makes the landscape here incredibly charming. The peaceful beauty of Lagi commune with stunning beaches is also a highly recommended attraction. When you arrive at Mui Ne and Bau Trang, don’t forget to take some photos here since the white sandhills are indeed captivating.

In the second stage of the journey, you are going to witness the harmonized beauty of gigantic windmills put in an imposing masterpiece created by Mother Nature in Phan Rang. Also in Phan Rang, you don’t want to waste a good chance to enjoy tasty bunches of grapes in the gardens here. Suoi Tien sheep farm in Cam Ranh is another splendid place to visit – an absolutely peaceful place to relax. In Ninh Thuan, come to Mui Dinh, where you can see the scenery of ships moving under the silver light of the lighthouse. Besides the mentioned attractions, you can find a lot of attractive places such as Diep Son, Ca Pass – one of the most magnificent passes in The Middle, Dai Lanh, Ganh Da Dia and more. In short, the route from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Quy Nhon is absolutely among the best motorcycle tours in Vietnam.

LANGBIANG HIGHLAND

With a height of 2000 meters, Langbiang is also considered “the rooftop of Da Lat”. This site is only 12 kilometers away from Da Lat city, so you can have a trip here and then go back to the town at night to enjoy flavorful foods in the city. The journey from the mountain foot to the top can be divided into three stages.

The first stage is the paved road. Along the way, you will go through a lovely vast pine forest. The cheerful sound of birds blending in wind blows makes this route so relaxing that you would love to stop by and take a deep breath. The second stage is the narrow trail which has many steep sections. On rainy days, going on this trail is pretty dangerous since it is muddy and slippery. You will need good observation skills as well as riding experiences to overcome this challenge. The last stage is the toughest as what you have to go through is an abrupt mountain slope. Here it would help if you climbed to the top in a group. The reward awaiting you is an incredible scenery of Da Lat from above, so remember to take some photos of memorable moments.

BU GIA MAP ROUTE

Another route that will fertilize your motorcycle trip in Vietnam is the Bu Gia Map route. Bu Gia Map National Park preserves many rare and precious gene sources of the rich flora and fauna of the Southeast. Here live a lot of wild animals such as elephants, gaurs, and bears. You will also find dreamlike waterfalls such as Dak Bo, Dak Sam, and Dak Ro. 

Moving into the forest, you can immerse yourself in nature, which will help you release stress. It’s easy to find scenic streams, so prepare a camera to save outstanding ubiquitous landscapes. Once again, you’d better explore Bu Gia Map in March or April since it’s quite sunny and comfortable. Although the streams are speechless beautiful, you need to cross them carefully as the water flow is sometimes unexpectedly savage.
